The tool analyses the whole column: if a value is above 12, the day/month order is certain. Otherwise it uses your language's format (month/day in English).

Is my file sent to a server?

No. Everything happens in your browser, like IWELAH's other local tools.

Are zip codes or numbers starting with 0 preserved?

Yes: a value like "01200" stays text so the leading zero is not lost.
